A certain air pressure must be maintained in the tires. However, the materials from which they are made, are not completely sealed, so the air gradually escapes through the walls of the chamber (especially in summer), and the pressure inside decreases.
In addition, the reason for the lack of air pressure can be damage of the camera or a tire (tubeless), defects of valve inside and fastening it to the rim (for tubeless tires), and also delayed check of air pressure. It is impossible to judge the internal pressure in the tire “by eye” or by the sound when you hit the tire, as this can make a mistake by 20-30%.
Tires with reduced internal pressure lose their elasticity. In such cases, cranking tire on the rim is possible. It causes the separation of the valve chamber, or its destruction in the area of mounting the valve. Also, the rolling resistance of the wheels increases, and, therefore, fuel consumption significantly increases (which is especially important now).
