A certain air pressure must be maintained in the tires. However, the materials from which they are made, are not completely sealed, so the air gradually escapes through the walls of the chamber (especially in summer), and the pressure inside decreases.
In addition, the reason for the lack of air pressure can be damage of the camera or a tire (tubeless), defects of valve inside and fastening it to the rim (for tubeless tires), and also delayed check of air pressure. It is impossible to judge the internal pressure in the tire “by eye” or by the sound when you hit the tire, as this can make a mistake by 20-30%.
Tires with reduced internal pressure lose their elasticity. In such cases, cranking tire on the rim is possible. It causes the separation of the valve chamber, or its destruction in the area of mounting the valve. Also, the rolling resistance of the wheels increases, and, therefore, fuel consumption significantly increases (which is especially important now). Reduction in tire pressure can be easily identified by the increased strain on the bus, for transfer a car in the direction of the wheel with the lack of pressure and a worsening of control. The break of the frame is possible, which is beyond repair as it should be noticed. Of course, you can use a liquid sealant that is injected through the valve, but it will not save your tires from damage, since this tool is designed to seal the puncture in the chamber.
And what if you overinflated the wheels? Destruction of cord happens when there is high pressure of the air, wear of the middle part of the tread increases. Shock-absorbing properties of the tire decrease, and it is subjected to large impact loads, which can lead to rupture of the frame wheels.
The nature of tire damage by vehicle overloading is the same as in the reduced pressure in them, but these injuries are more severe, and fuel consumption, respectively, appears. The main symptoms of tire congestion: sharp fluctuations in body motion, difficulty in control of the car. Some drivers believe that in such cases wheels should be pumped a little. This view is wrong as increasing of the internal pressure in combination with an overload shortens the life of tires.
Irregularity of tire wear (besides normal operating wear and tear) is a consequence of imbalance or misalignment of wheels (front). Irregular wear leads to increased noise of r ear axle gears and rear axle bearings. Unbalanced wheels lead to destruction of the suspension (especially spherical knots). Also attention to the alignment of the wheels must be paid.
Never set the wheels not recommended for the given car (tires of different types and with different tread pattern). It makes driving difficult, braking performance will be worsened and it will reduce the grip of the tires with the road surface.
Our motorists should pay more attention to “footwear” of their cars, thereby prolonging the service life of the wheels and saving the extra money. And if suddenly you notice have noticed something suspicious, then maybe you should not criticize the suspension or engine? Maybe, just check the pressure in tire?
